The rig

The rig (the camera frame) is an assembly of 20 × 20 mm T-slot aluminium extrusions (the 2020 series). It carries the GoPro and the lights in front of the Seacraft Future 1000 scooter; Sylvain Marcotte designed it.

Construction

The lights

The lights are placed to light a plane about 70 cm from the lens evenly: 60 cm between the two top lights, 40 cm between the two right-hand ones. The measurements are in Camera rig dimensions.

Four SecurityIng dive lights, one at each corner of the frame: 10 white LEDs (6000 K), 4 red and 4 blue, a 120° beam, four 18650 batteries. Intensity: 12,000 lumens, as claimed by the seller.

The scooter

A Seacraft Future 1000. At speed 1 it moves at 1.2 feet per second (0.37 m/s), measured in the videos of the sharpness test; its speeds are programmable.

The brushes

The floor brushes prepare the surfaces before filming them, the wood above all: they clear the silt and the shells that cover them in places.
