Privacy
This site is a personal field notebook. It sells nothing, shows no ads and asks for no account.
Audience measurement (Google Analytics)
Section titled “Audience measurement (Google Analytics)”The site measures its traffic with Google Analytics 4. Without your name or your email, it records:
- the pages viewed, and the page you came from (another site, a search engine, a QR code on the model page);
- the type of device, the operating system, the browser, the language, and the approximate country and region;
- two actions on the 3D model page: downloading the files (Google Earth, GLB) and launching augmented reality (on a table or at full scale).
Why: to know which pages are useful, whether the downloads and augmented reality get used, and where visitors come from, to decide where the project goes next.
Cookies: Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_…) to recognize a visit that carries on.
The data is processed by Google, outside Québec (in the United States), under its own rules. It is kept for
14 months, then deleted by Google.
Opting out: this button stops the measurement in this browser and deletes the Google Analytics cookies. It also lets you accept it again.
What stays in your browser
Section titled “What stays in your browser”The 3D viewer keeps your settings (lighting, colours, etc.), and the site keeps your opt-out if you made one, in your browser’s local storage. This information doesn’t leave your device and isn’t a cookie.
3D viewer technical log
Section titled “3D viewer technical log”The 3D viewer sends the site a short technical log of each visit, to find and fix what doesn’t work on some devices (for example an iPhone running out of memory). It contains:
- the device as the browser describes it: browser and system, screen size, graphics card, memory;
- the model’s loading time, the memory used, the length of the visit;
- the errors encountered, and the use of the augmented reality button;
- the country, inferred by the host.
It holds neither your name, nor your IP address, nor a cookie. Each visit gets a random code (shown at the bottom of the viewer’s ⚙ settings), which can’t recognise you from one visit to the next. To spot a visit that ended badly, the viewer keeps that code in the tab’s storage for the length of the visit. The log is kept a few days at Cloudflare, then deleted. It is used for nothing else.
Hosting
Section titled “Hosting”The site, the 3D model and the downloads are hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it receives your IP address to send you the pages; this site has no access to it.
Person in charge
Section titled “Person in charge”Person in charge of the protection of personal information: Christian Rémillard, author of the site. For any question, or to exercise your rights (access, correction, opting out of the measurement): info@lock21.info.
